Episode 01 - Bushmills Courthouse

Built by the distinguished MacNaghten family of Dundarave Estate in c.1834, the Bushmills Courthouse served as a Petty Session Court until c.1938.

As times changed, it became a place of residence, until it’s closure in 1972. It’s been vacant ever since, attaining Grade B1 listed status in 1977, and placed on the At-Risk Register in 2004.

The last resident was Rachel Galbraith. Someone said she was seen to have been, “standing at the front door in the gathering dusk, her slight figure silhouetted against the oil lamp in the hall behind. No doubt she often wondered what would become of the old place.”

…we wonder what Rachel would have made of our film today.
